Clayton Donaldson is still harbouring play-off dreams after his hat-trick against Burton Albion last week. ClayDo is looking for the team to get a January-style run going and push back up the table, though this was before the unhelpful defeat a Macc.

There is speculation that Byron Moore has turned down a new contract at the club in order to leave for a League One club in the summer. The club can claim compensation if or when he signs for another club but talk about throwing years of coaching back in your face.

Adam Dugdale seemed to be the only one to come out of the Macclesfield game with any credit. He won Man of the Match with over half the votes in our poll.

Nick Powell, Ben Garratt and Max Clayton have all received call-ups to the England U-17 squad for the final qualifying stage for the U-17 Euro Championships. The news comes as no surprise as Garratt, Powell and Clayton have wracked up a fair few caps between them and remain the only youngsters from the basement division to receive call-ups. Dario scoffed at a story suggesting Man City`s Reece Wabara had joined the club on a loan deal, saying that he has not heard back from Man City since the deal was originally pulled a couple of weeks ago. He added that he may decide against bringing in a defender if there was a decent defensive performance against Chesterfield. Uh-oh.

Clayton Donaldson`s tame penalty at Macclesfield on Tuesday night was our fifth penalty miss of the season from nine attempts, that`s not including his miss last weekend against Burton before he was allowed a re-take.
