Loan Watch: Connerton Continues Scoring Form

Jordan Connerton continued his superb scoring record on loan at Nantwich Town last night with his seventh goal in eight appearances.

Having missed the Dabbers weekend fixture against Kendal Town with another head injury, the former Lancaster youngster got straight back into action away at Retford United.

Unfortunately for Kevin Street's men it turned out to be their sixth defeat on the trot as they fell 3-2, after being 3-0 down at half time, and Connerton's 89th minute turned out to be nothing more than a consolation.

With Connerton due back from his loan in the next couple of weeks and the Alex's season seemingly over as a contest, I wonder if he will get some time to shine in the first team?

There was also a run out for academy youngster Casper Hughes, who joined Nantwich on work experience last week.

Meanwhile, defender Harry Davis helped Curzon Ashton to a comfortable 2-0 win over Lancaster City last night whilst Luke George started in Newcastle Town's 2-0 defeat at Belper in the President's Cup. Andy White was an unused sub.

Current list of Alex players out on loan:

Harry Davis - Curzon Ashton till 31st March 2011
Kelvin Mellor - Leek Town
Luke George - Newcastle Town (Work experience)
Jason Oswell - Market Drayton (Work experience)
Andy White - Newcastle Town (Work experience)
Casper Hughes - Nantwich Town (Work experience)
Jordan Connerton - Nantwich Town till 20th March 2011
Calvin Zola - Burton Albion till the end of the season
