Jorges Jottings answers 10 questions for the Vital Walsall site in our League 1 preview.

Who are your main transfer targets over the summer?

Having had a bit of a clear out we are desperate for new recruits especially a centre half, and like most teams in league one....a proven goalscorer. The main rumour is Darren Byfield to return, but this rumour has surfaced in the last two summers and never happens.

Who will be leaving / already left from your squad?

Old heads in Ian Roper and Darren Wrack have departed alongside Tommy Mooney and club captain Michael Dobson, whilst loanees Holmes and Betsy have returned to Derby and Bristol City.
We were also looking at Stefan Moore and Aaron Brown but have decided that they are not for us.

Who is the best player in your current squad?

Who is left ??? well currently Anthony Gerrard is well thought of although Norwich are reported to be interested.

Who is the worst player in your current squad?

Thankfully the targets for the fans wrath have been cut, but of those left Ishmel Demontagnac can be wonderful or frustrating with a bit of a temper for a young player.

If you were the manager, name one player you would sign (realistically)?

Darren Byfield, or a return of loanee Michael Ricketts would be welcomed.

If there was 1 team in the league you would most like to beat, who is it?

Well Port Vale have gone down, but Peterborough would be next on my list. Mainly due to some loud mouth fans crowing about there new found wealth etc. If that sounds a bit petty there is always MK Dons!!

Who will win promotion from League 1 next season?

It is hard to see past Leeds and Leicester really with Carisle possible play off winners.

Who will be relegated from League 1 next season?

It really does depend on summer transfer activity, the bookies have Cheltenham as favorites and I can see why, but even clubs like Walsall could struggle if the right new faces aren't brought in.

Where will Walsall finish in the league?

Depends on who comes in, at the moment a cloud of doom hangs over Walsall and most fans would take a survival spot at the moment.

Where do you think Crewe will finish in the league?

Having stayed up thanks to other clubs financial miss management it would be gross miss management of your own to see it happen again so I would say some mid table stability for yourselves this season.

Looking forward to next season, good luck you Railwaymen just remember to finish at least one place below us .....Please (first and second would do)

No, it's a League One love in. Something Vale aren't part of.
