Twenty Questions: Champagne Charlie

Name?Champagne Charlie

Age?28

Location? In the shadow of the main stand

Why support Crewe? After last season, that's a good question. But I'm a Crewe lad born and bred.

First Crewe game attended?First I can remember - Gillingham at home in the 91/92 season. Rob Jones' last game for the club, Gus Wilson sent off and a 2-1 win courtesy of Dave McKearney and Stewart 'Deirdre' Evans!

Season ticket holder? Will be next season.

Best player you've seen pull on the red & white? It's between Deano and Neil Lennon. Danny Murphy would have to be in the mix too. I'll stick my neck out and say Lennon.

Worst player you've seen pull on the red & white?Toss up between a keeper from the early nineties called Danny Noble and Billy Whitehurst (ask your parents)... they made Higdon look like Pele.

Best memory of supporting the Alex?Securing promotion at Chester on the last day of the 93/94 season.

Worst memory of supporting the Alex?29th May 1993 - Wembley versus York City. Day before my 14th birthday, losing on pens and our coach broke down just south of Birmingham on the way home - Happy Birthday!

How was the 07/08 season for you? The worst for a long time. You don't mind losing if your team play some decent football and show a bit of passion... but they did neither.

Where do you see us going next season (08/09)? It's too early to say. Let's see what the summer brings - everybody assumes we'll be inactive in the transfer market - I'm not so sure. I honestly believe Holland has got the potential to be a good coach though - given time.

Where do you realistically see the club in three years time? Best case scenario - Championship. Worst case scenario - playing our derbies against Northwich Vics.

One player you'd sign [realistically] if you were manager? I'd have offered the earth to Sam Vokes to get him in January... and still would.

Steve Holland: Stay or go? Stay - Rome wasn't built in a day.

Season ticket prices: Fair or unfair? Fair.

Pop Side, Gresty Road End or neither? The Pop everytime - it had an atmosphere unlike GRE.

Standing or sitting? Sitting now - I'm old (and lazy) before my time!

Opposition you dislike the most?Dirty Leeds - I do hope they stay down though!

Next season's League One Champions will be...I think Colchester will come back strong and they've got a good manager too.
