Powell is a name most Alex fans were talking about for months before he had even entered the U-18 side.

With himself and team mate Max Clayton causing a stir in national newspapers, being linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool as 14 and 15 year olds, Alex fans were eager to see the future of the Alex.

Part of the class of 2010, a group Dario and the club believe to be the academy's "best yet", Powell finally made his first team bow in the summer of 2010. After signing a long term deal, along with the rest of his year group, Powell came on as a substitute in a friendly against Blackpool - immediately making an impressing.

He went from strength to strength and at 16 years old and 144 days made his real first team debut against Cheltenham in League Two on August 14th 2010.

A regular in the England youth sides, along with team mates max Clayton and Ben Garrett, Powell has played in both the schoolboys side and England U-17 side.
