An academy graduate, the Crewe born midfielder made over 50 appearances for the Alex in the Championship between 2002-2007. His last appearance coming in the Carling Cup home tie against Man Utd in October 2006 - not a bad way to sign off.

As the Alex 'attempted' to build a side to return to the Championship in 2007, Bell was deemed surplus to requirements and was released upon his request in January 2007.

Bell spent four months at Burton Albion before eventually signing for League Two Mansfield Town. He left Field Mill a year later after the Stags fell out of the League and signed for Macclesfield.

He went on to make over 80 appearances for Macc in his two years there and was named their Fan's Player Of The Season for 2009-2010.

He returned to Crewe in May 2010 after rejecting an extension at Macclesfield. Signing a 2 year contract, Bell is also a coach in the Academy.
