Connerton signed for the Alex in March 2010 after a lengthy trial with the club.
With a host of league teams, including Preston and Leeds, interested in Connerton his signing was seen as a coup.
He signed a three year deal with the club having scored nearly 40 goals in 09-10 for Lancaster.
As part of the deal he remained on loan at Lancaster for the remainder of the 2009-2010 season.
