Signed at the start of 2010 for the remainder of the 10-11 season Dario said that Gardner's time at the club was in effect an "extended trial".
After catching the eye of Neil Baker the former Celtic striker impressed on a short trial with the club before terms were offered.
After making two cameo appearances the club decided not to retain Gardner beyond his six month contract in summer 2010.
