Byron Moore is one of the many academy graduates currently in the first team.

Progressing from the youth team to first team duties under Steve Holland in 2007, Moore made his impact in pre-season 07/08 when he made his unofficial debut against a strong Liverpool side.

He started the 07-08 season in the starting 11 and went on to make an impressive 36 appearances in League One, scoring 2 goals.

He scored his first Alex goal at Oldham in September of 2007. His first half goal put the Alex 2-0 up, only for the team to chuck it away and lose 3-2.

By the start of the 08-09 season Moore was an integral part of the first team. That season he made a further 40 appearances though 14 were from off the bench.

He scored a further four goals including a winner against Bristol City in the League Cup and a last gasp equaliser against Oldham.

The 09/10 proved a tougher test despite the fall into League Two. Inconsistent form and injuries meant by mid-March Moore had managed just 15 starts and 19 sub appearances. Despite Dario moving Moore to a striker's role he had a 6 month barren spell without scoring, breaking his duck in March's 4-2 win over Grimsby - where he played on the wing.
