Rapid double breaks resistance
Sat 4th Oct 3.00pm
Two rapid second-half goals presented more problems for Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis at Bradford City.
The Bantams had to wait until eighteen minutes from time when Aaron McLean headed them in front, but Gary Liddle immediately added another.
Bradford has dominated the opening half without managing to find the breakthrough. McLean and Billy Clarke each went close as Anthony Grant and Greg Leigh cleared from the line.
At the other end, home goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was tested by both Chris Atkinson and full debutant George Cooper, until Mark Yeates' 72nd minute cross was turned in by McLean for the opening goal.
Two minutes later Liddle struck home a confident second from the edge of the box following an assist by Filipe Morais.
Both Grant and substitute Ollie Turton then saw late replies heading straight at the keeper as the visitors' recent problems continued.
