Crewe Alexandra vs. AFC Bournemouth

Alexandra Stadium

Saturday 6th October

15.00

Crewe v Bournemouth

After back to back away matches, Crewe return home for the visit of rock bottom Bournemouth

Overview:

Crewe will be looking to get back to winning ways after picking up just 2pts from the last four fixtures. Bournemouth travel to the Alexandra Stadium having lost the last three fixtures against Brighton, Carlisle and Swindon respectively.

Apart from the blip against Leyton Orient at the end of August, our home far has been pretty impressive. In the month of September the opposition failed to net against us at the Alexandra Stadium.

Crewe Alexandra Team News:

Lee Barnard is rated as very doubtful after taking several knocks in a bruising encounter at Tranmere midweek.

Danny Woodards is also a doubt and if he fails to make it, George Abbey will step in at right back. Byron Moore will be pushed in to attack if Barnard fails to recover. Julien Baudet, Stuart Tomlinson and Nicky Maynard are ruled out.

Likely Team: Williams, Jones, Woodards, O'Donnell, McCready, Schumacher, Rix, Roberts, Bopp, Moore, Lowe.

Player to watch: Gary Roberts

Back in goalscoring form midweek, he despatched a 2nd half penalty in a creditable 1-1 draw at Tranmere. He is the club's leading goalscorer and will be hoping to be on the mark once again in the match against Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

Bournemouth have no new injury concerns but several first teamers continue to be sidelined. Neil Young (Knee Strain), Steven Foley (Back), Jean Christophe (Wrist), Marvin Bartley (Groin), Russ Perrett (Hamstring) and Warren Cummings (Arm) will all miss out on the trip to Crewe.

Player to watch: Lee Bradbury

The former Portsmouth man hit a hatrick on the opening day of the season for Southend but has since joined Bournemouth on a free. He scored both goals for the Cherries in a 2-0 win against Walsall in early September.
