Doncaster Rovers vs. Crewe Alexandra

Keepmoat Stadiun

SUNDAY 16th September

15.00

Doncaster v Crewe

Crewe travel to Doncaster hoping to build on last weekend's fantastic victory against Huddersfield.

Vital Quotes:

Doncaster will be looking to kick start their season with a home victory against Crewe. They have endured an indifferent start to the season and manager Sean O'Driscoll is already under pressure to produce results.

Crewe are unbeaten away from home and will be looking to take something from a tricky away match. Doncaster are a far better side than their current league position suggests.

Doncaster Rovers Team News:

Jason Price and Jamie Coppinger are in contention for a place in the matchday squad after coming through a midweek training match unscathed.

Kevin Horlock and Greame Lee are both ruled out of the game whilst Mark Wilson, Brian Stock, Martin Woods and Mark McCammon face late fitness test but are expected to be play.

Forward Bruce Dyer will also be missing, he has joined League Two side Rotherham on a month's loan

Player to watch: Jamie Hayter

Prolific scorer with Bournemouth, made the switch to Doncaster in the summer and has already found the target twice so far this season.

Crewe Alexandra Team News:

Crewe look set to keep faith with the side that beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 last weekend. Nicky Maynard is out with a long term injury. Gary Roberts and Danny O'Donnell are doubtful but are expected to feature.

Likely Team: Williams, Woodards, Jones, Baudet, O'Donnell, Bopp, Schumacher, Cox, Roberts, Barnard, Lowe

Player to watch: Eugen Bopp

After a sluggish start seems to be settling down in an unfamiliar position on the left hand side of midfield.

Scored the 2nd last week and hopefully this will be the spur that was needed to get the best of of him.

Ref Watch:

Darren Deadman will be the referee when we visit the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday

Mr Deadman has been a referee for four years, and a league referee since the 05/06 season. He's refereed two Crewe Alex games in his career; last season he didn't hand out any cards in the 1-1 draw at Cheltenham. In 05/06 he failed to bring us any luck when reffing the hurrendous 5-1 defeat at Derby. Crewe loan 'keeper Ross Turnbull was booked for time wasting that day. At 4-0 down.

Deadman has never refereed a Doncaster match. So far this season, he's handed out 8 yellow cards and 1 red card in three games.

This time last year Deadman was suspended by the FA 'for less than proficiently applying the Laws of the Game'. He missed two games after a ' disagreement over the number of permitted substitutes prior to a pre-season friendly'.

Deadman will be assisted by G Atkins and A Smith. The fourth official will be W Porter.

Match Prediction:

Following the trend in away fixtures for Crewe - Doncaster 1-1 Crewe
