Crewe make the short journey to Chester in the first round of Johnstone Paints Trophy.
Overview:
It's over 10 years since Crewe played Chester in a competitive match. Of course we made the Northern Final last season and we will be looking to get one better this season as the Grand Final returns to Wembley.
Chester City Team News:
Chester have no fresh injury concerns following their 1-1 draw at Rotherham last Saturday. Manager Bobby Williamson has a full strength squad to pick from.
Player to watch: Kevin Ellison
A player who could play higher, He plays from the left hand side of goal and pops up with vital goals. Ellison signed from Tranmere Rovers in the summer of 2006.
Crewe Alexandra Team News:
Crewe are likely to ring the changes for the match at Chester. Stuart Tomlinson will get a chance to impress in goal as he replaces Ben Williams. Gary Roberts and Neil Cox will be rested whilst Steve Schumacher is a doubt with a rib injury but is expected to play.
Likely Team: Tomlinson, Jones, Woodards, Baudet, O'Donnell, Schumacher, Rix, Bopp, Lowe, Farquharson, Pope.
