County Ground
Saturday 1st September
3pm
Crewe's 2nd away game of the season sees us travel to another promoted side in the form of Swindon Town.
After an indifferent start to the season, Crewe will be looking for all three points at the County ground as they look to bounce back from the home defeat against league leaders Leyton Orient.
Swindon have had a decent return to League One, Winning at home against Luton and drawing both games on the road at Northampton and Cheltenham.
To follow.
The 6ft Scottish striker Lee Peacock has been in good form so far this season and will need to be well marshalled by the Crewe defence.
He scored in their only win in League One so far. The home victory against Luton Town and he will be looking to add more goals to his tally against Crewe.
Crewe will be without Nicky Maynard who is out with a long term injury. Chris McCready, Byron Moore and Michael O'Connor have began training again but won't be considered for the clash at Swindon.
New boy Lee Barnard should be fit enough to take his place on the bench. The Tottenham forward has been struggling with a hamstring injury thay had delayed hs move to Crewe.
Likely Team: Wiliams, Jones, Woodards, Baudet, O'Donnell, Schumacher, Cox, Roberts, Bopp, Pope, Dickson
Finally he has arrived! Unlikely to start but could be given a place on the bench. Big things are expected of the Tottenham youngster and he will be looking to shine in a 5 month loan deal with Crewe.
Swindon - Evens
Draw - 11/5
Crewe - 23/10
The referee for Saturday's encounter at Swindon is P Crossley from Kent. He last was in charge of Crewe in the 2-1 defeat at Bristol City.
On that day he sent off Gary Roberts for a two footed tackle which Crewe later appealled against and lost. That sending off was Crewe's only sending off in the 2006/07 season.
He will be assisted by N Hobbis and D Sheldrake. This will be his first appointment of the 2007/08 season, last season he dished out 84 yellows and 6 reds in 26 games.
Mr Crossley was also in charge of the derby day defeat at Stoke in November 2004 and the 2-2 draw at Bristol City in November 2002.
