By Crewe4life New Crewe Alexandra boss Gudjon Thordason will manage the side for his first home game on Tuesday as Crewe take on Millwall. After two draws already this season at The New Den, Crewe and Millwall meet at Gresty Road for the first time this season for an F.A Cup replay, with the winners able to look forward to an away day at Premiership boys Hull or Newcastle. Crewe will look to extend their good current form after a 4-1 win at Hartlepool and a 2-2 draw at Millwall in the original tie against a Millwall side without a win in four.
'The players will be up for up it. They will look forward to the game and finishing the job we started down there.
'Then they will look forward to going on to face a good side in an environment that is exciting for everybody,'
Gudjon Thordason has been boosted by the return of defensive duo Billy Jones and Captain Julian Baudet, as well as midfielders Michael O'Connor and Eugen Bopp and forwards Tom Pope and Calvin Zola. Thordason has stated he doesn't want to change a side that's doing well, but after watching Zola, Pope and O'Connor score for the reserves at Aston Villa he may return the trio to the starting line up.
All Crewe eyes will be on youngsters Danny Shelly and Luke Murphy if Gudjon Thordason is to give them home debuts after impressing at Millwall, with both scoring wonder goals in the last two games.
Ex-Crewe man Marcus Bignot won't make a return to Gresty road as he joins Danny Senda, Nadjim Abdou, Chris Hacket, and Danny Spiller on the injury list. Millwall are also without Tony Craig and Paul Robinson who are suspended.
For Millwall forward Neil Harris will be looking to add to the goals which have recently made him Millwall's all time goal scorer. Defender Zak Whitbread who has been linked with a move to a higher level will also be key to the side.
