Dario: The Spirit Was Good
In a puff of smoke, Dario Gradi returned to the spotlight as he gave his views on the 2-2 draw against run away league leaders today. The technical director the team deserved a point after a final 10 minute fight back, but admitted that Steve Holland wasn't happy over the incident that gave Swansea a penalty for the opening goal.
Dario told the official site, crewealex.net: 'Steve is still on about it he's livid. Steve has spent the week on about the discipline and staying on their feet and then Danny [Woodards] goes and dives in. The second goal was also a ridiculous goal, and you begin to think everything is against you. You do all that work and work hard. Steve has worked with them all week and you're 2 goals down and you're thinking that we don't look like we can score 2 goals.
'It makes a difference when you have someone that is winning the headers, and Julien Baudet did that today. So they worked hard and earned the fouls for the free kicks without playing magnificently well.
'In the end you have to say it was their spirit that got them the point, our goalkeeper didn't have a lot of saves to make, they hadn't scored a goal from a shot.'
The point takes the Alex out of the relegation zone but still with a uphill task to avoid relegation to League Two. Despite Millwall's 2-0 defeat against Nott'm Forest, and thus helping us out of the bottom four, the Lions still have two games in hand.
