'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre-Brighton News

It's hard to find any enthusiasm for games these days. The silence on transfer deadline day has left many fans drained of any hope for the rest of this season. I usually try and find hope in any situation, but having witnessed all the performances this season I really don't see things changing. Like most fans I thought four signings were a must in January if we were to stay up, but we didn't see one. It's left things feeling very bitter.

The trip to Brighton only serves as a warm-up for what is going to be a near impossible February. Today is followed by trips to Leeds and Orient whilst Swansea and Carlisle visit - all four are in and around the play-off places and frankly I wouldn't expect a single point from all of them.

Injuries aren't helping either. Gary Roberts (ribs) and Ben Rix (face) have both been ruled out of the game, as has Chris McCready (hamstring). Michael O'Connor and Shaun Miller both remain out with ankle injuries.

Due to injuries, the unthinkable may happen and Steve Holland may actually give Eugen Bopp a chance. Whether he will play him in his natural position or give him more than 3 minutes is yet to be seen,
