Vokes Rejects Crewe

Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes has become the latest player to reject a move to Crewe. Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond confirmed this morning that Vokes ruled out a move North after an enquiry from Crewe.

Bond told the press this morning: 'Sam wanted to stay here and we wanted him to stay. We made him aware of Crewe Alexandra's inquiry, but he has told us that we wants to stay at Bournemouth, so that is the end of that.'

Meanwhile, Stockport have accepted a bid from Leeds for striker Anthony Elding, almost ruling Crewe out of the race for his signature. Hopes seemed to be pinned on Vokes and Elding but having two rejections before mid-day means this transfer window goes from bad to worse.
