'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Transfer Deadline Live : 00:01

This is it. Less than twenty-four hours remain for Crewe, and the rest of the footballing country, to tie up all permanent deals before the window slams shut at midnight. Follow it live with Vital Crewe.

We will bring you the latest transfer gossip and deals, mostly those that relate to Crewe but also the interesting last minute deals. So here we go...

00:01 -And that sound is of the transfer window slamming shut. No news on any new signings though; so unless there are any late announcements in the morning (Wishful thinking) it seems to be a dark day at Gresty Road.

23:13 - Crewe's rivals over more than one striker in the January transfer window Gillingham have signed 18 goal striker Simeon Jackson from Rushden.

22:50 - Despite some promising whispers earlier in the evening, it looks like Crewe have all but packed up for the evening. No new signings looking likely in the final hour. Shambles.

21:00 - Ex-Alex midfielder Neil Lennon has joined Wycombe on a free transfer.

20:10 -Confirmed; Gareth Taylor to Doncaster till the end of the season. Ian Moore meanwhile moves from Hartlepool to Tranmere.

19:20 -Couple of new rumours doing the rounds involving two former strikers. Rob Hulse on loan to Crystal Palace and Gareth Taylor from Tranmere to Doncaster. I wonder if Dario regrets offering Taylor such a poor contract a couple of years ago?

18:30 -Two players released from League One clubs today. Michael Ricketts at Oldham and Bruce Dyer at Doncaster. I wouldn't say no to either. Oh, and Elding completes his move to Leeds United.

17:45 -Aye aye, we have some news. Sadly not from Crewe. Former Alex loanee Elliott Bennett has gone on loan to Bury though - I wonder why we weren't interested again?
I wonder if we can bring you some news from Gresty Towers later tonight? Hold tight.

15:05 -Ohh, it's all gone quiet over there. Come on Crewe, put us out of our misery and tell us "We'l go with what we've got".

13:40 -It's rumoured Port Vale have rejected a £60k bid for Alex reject Luke Rodgers. Think we can safely say it wasn't from us, can't we?

11:35 - Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes becomes the latest to reject Crewe! Is that it for the Alex? Dario and Holland in for an early night?

10:40 - Rumours abound that former Alex favourite Rob Hulse is on the verge of signing for Ipswich. Still quiet at Gresty Towers though; not even 11am but I've a bad feeling about today already.

10:10 - Crewe look to have missed out on Anthony Elding. The Stockport striker looks set for Leeds United.

08:25 - It's morning and we await news on any transfers at Gresty Road. Elsewhere today, Dele Adebola should complete his move to Bristol City - what a revival of a career he's had. Looked down and out after his serious knee injury, failing to impress on loan stints to the likes of Oldham a few years back. Could he be playing Premiership football next season?

00:01 - Well the two main names we should be looking out for are Anthony Elding (Stockport) and Sam Vokes (Bournemouth). Sounds like Crewe have thrown hefty bids in for both but both are also attracting interest from several clubs. Hartlepool and Gillingham have both shown firm interest in Elding whilst Vokes is reportedly wanted by Doncaster.

There should also be no surprises if Holland brings in a winger after being let down by Hibs' Alan O'Brien. Could it be a return for the Derry Dasher/Steve Jones?
