Church Joins Yeovil

Former loanee Simon Church has joined Russell Slade's Yeovil Town on loan till the end of the season. The Reading striker spent 3 months on loan at Gresty Road earlier this season and for much of it was our main strike threat, despite scoring once in his 11 starts.

Church returned to Reading earlier this month after Steve Holland admitted he couldn't offer him a guaranteed starting place - something both Church & Reading felt was needed for his development.

Today the 19 year old joined our League One rivals on loan for the rest of the season, and could face us when we travel down in April to face the Glovers.

Church's progress is sure to be monitored by not only Steve Holland but also Alex fans. Having already seen a former loanee have much success elsewhere, in the shape of Chris Dickson and his 11 goals for Gillingham, if Church, and also Lee Barnard for Southend, can bang them in for other teams then questions will start being raised.
