Baudet Reads The Riot Act

Captain Baudet has warned the younger players to take notice of the situation the team is in and act. The French defender was in no mood for niceties this morning when he spoke to the media and admitted that the club is in serious danger of relegation to the basement league at the moment.

Speaking to thisischeshire.co.uk, Baudet believes that the Alex now have a mountain to climb and it's up to the players to get the club out of the relegation scrap.

Baudet said: 'We've got a real scrap to get out of the relegation zone. Believe it or not, we are in it. We can't rely on other results, we've got to do it ourselves. The teams behind us have got games in hand and the teams above us. If you look at the bigger picture, we're in trouble.'

With the Alex just one spot and one point above the bottom four, it is our lowest position and poorest season in over a decade. Anything but a win on Tuesday night could see us drop into the bottom four and with a month of Brighton, Leeds, Carlisle and Leyton Orient to come in February, it's hard to see quite where the escape will come from.

Baudet thinks that some of the younger players need to wake up a little to reality and see the danger the team are in. Having spent a couple of seasons mixing it in League Two, Baudet knows all about the pros and cons of the division.

'I hope they all know we are in trouble or we really are in trouble, with all the greatest respect, it's not nice to play in League Two. Would you rather go and play at Forest, Leeds, Swansea and Doncaster or Bury and Accrington Stanley week in, week out.

'Some of the young lads need to realise. And I hope they realise if we did go down, no club is going to come in and buy them on the cheap. I hope we are all aware of what is happening and we pull in the same direction to do something about it.'
