Lee Barnard Set For L1 Rivals

Former loanee Lee Barnard could be set for a return to League One as Southend look set to capture him. The Tottenham striker spent five months at Gresty Road after the Alex spent 2 months trying to sign him.

He returned to Tottenham at the start of this month after Tottenham recalled him, but despite Steve Holland offering Barnard the chance to return as soon as he's available again it looks like the only return for Barnard will be when Southend United visit Gresty Road.

Reports down south claim that Barney will sign on a permanent deal at Roots Hall.

Whilst at Crewe, Barnard played 9 games and scored three goal. His first came on his debut in a 2-0 win over Huddersfield and his last came on boxing day, securing a point against Huddersfield. He also played in Crewe's visit to Southend, where he was booed by the home fans throughout the game.
