Swansea Game In Doubt?

Swansea Game In Doubt?

Swansea manager Roberto Martinez has suggested tuesdays game could be threatened by the recent bad weather.

After an inspection of the pitch today it is in a playable condition but if heavy rain continues to fall in the next 24 hours the game could be in serious doubt.

Martinez told the local Swansea press, 'The weather is a bit of a worry...there has been a lot of rain and in some areas it could become difficult for the ball to roll properly.'

The forecast for tuesday is for dry weather though, so if there is no rain between now and tomorrow the game should be fine for the go ahead.

Crewe will no doubt hoping the game is on and they can get it out of the way. The Alex are currently sitting on an unwanted record of only one win in ten games, and only one league win away from home all season. In contrast league leaders Swansea are currently unbeaten in their last nine league games and have only lost 3 league games all season, two being at home.

The odds are stacked against Crewe but one crumb of comfort for the Alex pre-match might be Swansea's 4-2 home defeat to Havent & Waterlooville last Wednesday. The non-leaguers out classed the Swans on the night, but whether Crewe can muster the same sort of committed and determined performance is something that has already been asked and failed by the team many times already this season.
