Left-Back Loaned From Toffees

Crewe have secured the services of 20 year-old left-back Patrick Boyle from Everton on a one month loan deal.

Boyle is a regular in Everton's reserve team and will provide much needed cover for the Alex with Billy Jones out injured for the next few weeks.

Patrick can also play in midfield or in the centre of defence and will go straight into the Crewe squad for tomorrows nights fixture at Swansea with a starting berth for him being likely.

Boyle has also made appearances for the Scottish Under-19's and had a brief loan spell at Norwich in 2006 playing three games before an untimely injury cut his loan short.

Boyle told the official Everton website, "Traditionally, Crewe have always been renowned for being a footballing side and although things haven`t gone well for them lately, I can`t wait to get started"

He added, "They`ve got a lot of games during my month and if I prove that I am worthy of a place in the team then it will be a chance for me to play regular football. Playing League One football week-in, week-out is far better for me than waiting for reserve matches to come along."
