Crewe To Welcome Back Jonah

Former Alex striker Steve Jones is set to return to Gresty Road in a loan deal from Burnley. The 30 year old left the Alex in May 2006 after five successful years at the Alex. After his £75,000 move from Leigh RMI, he went on to make 122 league starts in a red shirt and played a vital part in the 02/03 promotion campaign, scoring 13 goals.

He left the Alex for Burnley in 2006 after turning down various new contract offers from Crewe, but despite a good first season at Burnley he has failed to get into the team for this season.

Jones, who can play upfront and on either wing has now agreed a one month loan deal and the Alex are just awaiting the green light from Burnley for the move to go ahead.
