Crewe To Welcome Back Jonah

Former Alex striker Steve Jones is set to return to Gresty Road in a loan deal from Burnley. The 30 year old left the Alex in May 2006 after five successful years at the Alex. After his 75,000 move from Leigh RMI, he went on to make 122 league starts in a red shirt and played a vital part in the 02/03 promotion campaign, scoring 13 goals.

He left the Alex for Burnley in 2006 after turning down various new contract offers from Crewe, but despite a good first season at Burnley he has failed to get into the team for this season.

Jones, who can play upfront and on either wing has now agreed a one month loan deal and the Alex are just awaiting the green light from Burnley for the move to go ahead.
