Alex Lose In 'Squad Game'

Crewe lost 3-2 in a behind closed doors friendly against Burnley today. The game, described as a 'squad game', gave the likes of Mark Carrington, Danny O'Donnell and Shaun Miller to stake a claim for a starting place in the first team.

Transfer listed Eugen Bopp got one of the Alex's goals from the penalty spot whilst Simon Church, who was harshly left out of last night's league game, grabbed the second. It wasn't enough to get anything from the game however as Burnley grabbed the win with two goals from former Alex striker Steve Jones.

Players involved in the game included:

Owain Fon Williams, James Bailey, Junior Brown, Danny O'Donnell, Mat Bailey, Steven Schumacher, Eugen Bopp, Byron Moore, Mark Carrington, Tom Pope, Shaun Miller, Simon Church, Tom Lappin, Chris Clements, Nick Farquharson
