Holland Blasts Amateurs

Holland Blasts Amateurs

Steve Holland has called Forest Green Rovers 'amateurish' after ignoring a substantial offer for their star striker. The club made a£175,000 bid for striker Stuart Fleetwood over a week ago and have still not heard back from the Gloucestershire club, despite being told an answer would be given last Friday evening.

''To have heard nothing after we were told we would is really frustrating and amateurish,'' Holland told The Sentinel Newspaper.

''We're bitterly disappointed with the way this has been handled. We've made a competitive and significant bid and we were told we'd be informed on Friday if it had been accepted.''

It is reported though that Forest Green are holding out for £250,000, some £75,000 more than our original bid. With Charlton Athletic seemingly keen on Fleetwood, it's possible from Forest Green and/or Fleetwood's agent are using the Alex's bid to kick start an auction, whilst keeping it open to fall back onto if no other interest materialises.
