Club Confirm New Striker Bid

Club Confirm New Striker Bid

Steve Holland has confirmed that the club have made a new offer for a new striker after many set backs in the transfer market.

Despite reports, the club are still waiting to hear on a £175,000 bid for Forest Green's Stuart Fleetwood. The offer was made on Monday last week but as of yet Forest Green haven't returned their verdict. Having also seen target no.2, Damian Spencer, fail to sign due to a failed medical, it's left Steve Holland very frustrated.

Today though he confirmed that fresh bid has been made for another striker, whom we haven't previously tried for this month. Steve Holland told the official site, CreweAlex.net, that he hopes to get a quick answer on this one:

''I have made contact with another club and we have submitted a fresh bid for a new striker. Chairman John Bowler has made contact with their board and we hope to have a decision on that as soon as possible.''

Two possible names in the frame are Andy Bishop from Bury and Steve Morison from Stevenage. Various media reports this week suggested that the Alex were to make a bid for both players.
