Sunday Papers: Morison Linked

Crewe are being linked with a £150k move for Stevenage Borough's Steven Morison. The link comes after a £175k move for Forest Green's Stuart Fleetwood seems to have failed this weekend.

Sunday newspapers claim that a bid will soon be tabled for the 24 year old, who has 13 goals for the Blue Square Premier team this season.

Morison started his career at Northampton Town, playing 24 league games between 2001-2004 but at the time failed to make the grade. He went on to spend a season at Bishop's Stortford before now Gillingham manager Mark Stimson took him to Stevenage Borough where he's been prolific throughout his 18 months at the club - with a goal ratio of more than one every two games.

He has also caught the attention of Charlton Athletic, with Addicks manager Alan Pardew thought to be keeping a close eye on things - although Charlton do seem to be linked with most strikers these days.

Steve Holland is known to be keen on Morison, having taken a few trips to watch the hot shot in action and it's plausible that he is striker number two on his wanted list. Whether £150k will be enough to get Stevenage Borough's main man will be open to debate.
