Schumacher Comeback Delayed

After returning to light training following an ankle ligament injury, midfielder Steven Schumacher has suffered a set back.

Schumacher felt some discomfort in his ankle after taking part in a light running session in training and so his return has been put on hold.

The Alex management were hoping Schumacher would be fighting fit for the approaching Christmas period but that now looks unlikely.

Dario Gradi told crewealex.net, 'Steven has not responded too well to the running we had set for him...It is nothing too serious. He has just felt some discomfort when running. He wasn't quite ready for it and has taken a bit of a backward step'.

Schumacher has not played for Crewe since the 2-0 home victory over Luton at the back end of October.
