Woodards Linked To Mackems

It's being reported that right back Danny Woodards could be a target for the Premiership. It's said that Sunderland are keeping tabs on the former Exeter City defender and Roy Keane may even make a move this January.

Sunderland have been to Gresty Road on no less than five occassions so far this season and will know all about Woodards' ability and potential.

The news will probably come as no surprise to Alex fans who have seen Woodards put in some quite brilliant performances since his arrival in January. This week he was named in the League One team of the week, and on Vital Crewe he was chosen as the Player of the Season to date by a large margin.

Woody is currently tied to a contract at Gresty Road till 2010 following his 30k move from Exeter, so any offer in January may have to be hefty if the Mackems are to convince Dario & Steve Holland to sell one of the main assets.
