'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Interest Is No Surprise

Steve Holland says he's not surprised to see Owain Fon Williams linked with a move to the Premiership, but says no contact has been made.

The Times newspaper yesterday claimed that Bolton, Blackburn, Sunderland and West Ham were all interested in securing the 20 year old's services, with his contract up in the summer.

However, Holland says it's nothing new for our youngsters to be linked elsewhere and that Fon's contract will be discussed 'in due course'.

Holland told the official website: 'I have heard about the apparent interest in Owain and that is something that doesn't particularly surprise me. It is never a great surprise to us that our promising young players are being watched by bigger clubs. There is nothing new in that.

'Owain has been getting some good exposure with the Wales Under-21s although he has not made his first team debut for us. He has been on the bench on a number of occasions and we regard him highly.

'He is out of contract in the summer, and we will speak to him and a few others about his contract situation in due course.'
