Barney Will Return

Tottenham striker Lee Barnard will return to Gresty Road to finish his loan spell following his injury. there had been doubts over whether Barnard would be asked back after a six week spell on the sidelines, but Steve Holland says that Barnard is welcome back.

Holland told the official site: 'Lee will be back with us early next week. He has returned to training at Tottenham, albeit only over the last couple of days.

'We will have to see how he is looking on Monday, because he has missed a few months, but if he is fit then of course a player of his calibre will figure for us over Christmas.'

Barnard had a good start to his time at Gresty Road, scoring one against Huddersfield and claiming the Man of the Match award. Whilst his form faded, he'll undoubtedly be a useful offer over a busy Christmas period.

With his loan ending in January, Barnard will certainly want to impress before the end of the month if he wants to finish the season here.
