'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Steve Coppell: Dario Is Unbelievable

Reading manager Steve Coppell has heaped praise on Dario Gradi's contribution to football.

Coppell, who's an outsider for the England job, was talking about English football and how it's structure was a 'mess'. He did though reserve praise for the Alex's Technical Director Dario Gradi.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the former Palace manager said that Dario's achievements are the biggest in football.

Coppell said: 'It is all about depth of pocket. You can go through all four divisions and it more or less reflects the spend. What Dario has done is the biggest achievement in football, pulling that club up by its bootstraps for so many years.'

Coppell went on to talk about why he allowed his young striker Simon Church to join on loan - and just how Dario compares to the managers at the very top.

He said: 'I have a player with Dario on loan, and I know that player will be looked after, and get one-on-one coaching. Dario's unbelievable. Dario would do a lot better at Arsenal than Arsene would do at Crewe, with all due respect.'

Praise indeed.... Dario for England then?
