Church Not Used For Wales

Crewe will feel slightly annoyed tonight as striker Simon Church was an unused sub for Wales U21s tonight.

Church, on loan from Reading, has played a vital part in our recent form, so when he was called up for U-21 duty Dario rightly enquired about letting him skip international duty for today's league game against Northampton. However, Dario was 'assured' by manager Brian Flynn that Church had a part to play for Wales and wouldn't be returning.

Owain Fon Williams, meanwhile, did play in the match against Bosnia U21s as Wales ran out 4-0 winners. It means another clean sheet for Fon, who has comfortably established himself as the Wales U21s number one keeper.

The U21s now play France on Tuesday. The game will be live on Sky Sports 1 for those wishing to watch Fon Williams and Church in action. Kick off is at 8pm.
