Ashton Town 1-6 Crewe Alexandra

Crewe Alexandra Under 18's marched in to the 2nd round of the FA Youth Cup with a convincing win at non league side Ashton Town last night.

The youngsters scored three goals in each half to secure victory and set up a 2nd round tie against either Cambridge Utd or Hemel Hempstead who meet tonight.

Meanwhile, The Under 18's match scheduled for Saturday November 17th has been postponed. This is due to Blackburn Reserve team boss Glyn Hodges calling upon a number of the Academy players for a special match away against the Jersey national side the same day.

Crewe Team: Baker, Danville, Tootle, Bancroft, Lappin, Clements, Lund, Westwood, Murphy, Leitch-Smith, Thompson. Subs: Marshall, Ager, Stair

Goals: Lappin, Leitch-Smith, Lund (2), Marshall and Ager.

Attendance: 263
