Cox In For Vale Job?

Crewe captain Neil Cox was seen walking out of Vale Park in a 'smart suit', according to The Sentinel. With Port Vale still having a manager's hot seat empty, today's report certainly set tongues wagging.
Assistant manager Neil Baker is already known to have applied for the job and is thought to be one of the front runners to get it, news of Cox making an appearance is a surprise though.
Cox is keen to go into coaching and management once he's hung up his boots, and was reportedly very interested in the Scunthorpe job last season. However, the 36 year old is a key part of Steve Holland's team whilst whispers suggest there could be a place for Cox at Gresty Road after his playing days.
Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt denied that Cox was at their ground for a interview, and also confirmed that two names are top of the list and one will be appointed early next week.
