New Striker, The Trilogy
So, here we go again. The hunt for yet another striker begins today and Dario says he may get one in before the weekend. Expect one some time around Christmas then.
With so many injuries, mainly that to Lee Barnard, the Alex are yet again short of options up front with Nicky Maynard still a few weeks from a return.
Simon Church, who arrived on loan from Reading last week, gave a good first impression on his debut against Luton but it's questionable if Ryan Lowe can become his long term strike partner.
So, having thought their 3 month search for a strike force had ended on Friday, the management were back on the phones this week, and Dario thinks they should have a new striker by Friday, should the player agree to come.
Dario told crewealex.net: 'We have put in a phone call about a striker and we have come to an agreement with the club. It is now down to the player. He needs to be informed and then we'll see. If we miss out on this one, we will go for another one.'
