End for Barnard

Lee Barnard looks set to quit Crewe and return to Spurs. The youngster is currently injured after getting a heavy whack on his ankle early on Saturday.

The player is likely to be sidelined for around six weeks and the impression that the club are giving out is that he is unlikely to return to the Alexandra Stadium.

The player has struggled with injury and has believed to have become home sick and comes as no surprise that he may not return when he is fit again.

Technical Director Dario Gradi told the Official Site "Once he is fit we will take stock of the situation and see where we are. We will look at it more closely at the time to see if we want to bring him back here or if he would like to come back. We will have to see, and of course Tottenham will have the final say because he is their player"

Barnard has scored just twice in his spell with Crewe, a goal on his debut against Huddersfield and in a 3-2 defeat at Oldham at the end of last month.

Crewe Vital wishes Lee Barnard well for the future.

Good player who will do well with a good team around him. Shame we never gave him a chance to really shince.
