Five In The Frame

Five In The Frame

Dario Gradi says the club have five names in the frame for loan deals, with two likely to come in soon. The management have been search since the start of the season for a left winger and strike but for one reason or another a deal has never been pulled off.

Offers for the likes of Man Utd's Fraizer Campbell, Man City's Ishmael Miller and ex-Alex striker Steve Jones have all come to nothing this season. However, Dario now believes that their hard work has paid off.

A winger, Lewis Gobern from Wolves, is set to sign once he recovers from a slight hamstring, whilst a deal for a striker is also thought to be close.

Dario told crewealex.net: 'Steve Holland has five names in the frame at the moment and the phone has been red hot. We have even asked about two of our former players.

'Steve has found a winger and we were close to bringing in him, but he has picked up a slight injury and wasn't fit. We will have to wait on that one.

'If we can find a winger, a real flier with quality, a striker with real presence and can get Nicky Maynard back then that would make a huge difference to us. '
