Could Hull City's Michael Bridges be the answer to our forward problems? The 29 year old has been told he has no future at Hull and will leave on loan this week.
The former England U-21 striker, at 6ft 1', could well be the answer to our needs. A real target man, who's no stranger to finding the net at the top level. Despite clocking up seven different clubs in his career, he still has 53 goals in 117 starts.
Prior to his £350,000 move to Hull last year, he scored 12 goals in 23 games during a spell at Carlisle in League Two, after 3 goals in 5 games in the preceding loan spell.
He's struggled to hold down a spot in the Hull team this season, after scoring just once - in a three-nil win at Gresty Road (typically).
Back in 2005, it was said that Bridges spent the summer at Reaseheath training in order to regain fitness. Although he was out of the club's reach at the time, links are clearly there.
He's now available on a three month loan, with a permanent deal in the offering, and could prove to be a perfect striker to partner Lee Barnard.
Last week, Dario and Steve Holland had loan offers for Bristol City strikers Phil Jevons and Kevin Betsy turned down, forcing the club to look elsewhere for a new striker.
Dario said afterwards that he'd like either a 'young Rodney Jack' or a 'target man' who can add presence up front, who Lee Barnard can play off.
