Busy night for Fon-Williams

Crewe's young keeper Owen Fon-Williams was in superb form tonight but he was unable to prevent the Welsh Under 21's team from losing 1-0 to French Under 21's at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham earlier tonight.

He produced a string of saves to keep the score down to just 1-0. The only goal of the game was scored by a Wales player, Oldham defender Neal Eardley scored an own goal.

Fon Williams best moment of the match was an excellent save from a free kick by Newcastle United's Charles N'Zogbia midway through the first half.

The 20 year old has been a regular in the Wales Under-21's for a couple of years and was the Alex's only international call-up this weekend. Currently 3rd choice keeper, Williams is expected to push for the number one spot before the season is out.

Only an own goal could beat the lad though.
