Men in the middle

The referee for Saturday's encounter at Swindon is P Crossley from Kent. He last was in charge of Crewe in the 2-1 defeat at Bristol City.

On that day he sent off Gary Roberts for a two footed tackle which Crewe later appealled against and lost. That sending off was Crewe's only sending off in the 2006/07 season.

He will be assisted by N Hobbis and D Sheldrake. This will be his first appointment of the 2007/08 season, last season he dished out 84 yellows and 6 reds in 26 games.

Mr Crossley was also in charge of the derby day defeat at Stoke in November 2004 and the 2-2 draw at Bristol City in November 2002.

Mr K.G Evans will be in charge of the Cheshire derby in JPT 1st Round next Tuesday. He will be assisted by K.J Mattocks and A.J Scregg.

In his two games this season he has dished 11 yellow cards and 1 red card. This is his first season as a referee in the football league.
