Fon Williams Back In U-21 Squad

Goalkeeper Owain fon Williams has been recalled to the Wales U-21 squad for a U-21 Euro 2008 qualifier next month.

Williams has established himself as the number one keeper at U-21 level, although was subbed at half time in last week's 3-1 defeat to Sweden.

Wales U-21s will place France in Grenoble on 7th September in a Euro 2008 U-21's qualifier. It means Williams will be unavailable for selection for the visit on Huddersfield Town on September 8th.

Meanwhile, former Alex winger David Vaughan has been left out of the full Wales squad to play Germany and Slovakia next month.

Wales U21 squad:

R Taylor (Chelsea), O Fon Williams (Crewe), Eardley (Oldham), Gunter (Cardiff), Jacobson (Bristol R), N.Taylor (Wrexham), Mike Williams (Wrexham), R.Williams (Middlesbrough), Allen (Swansea), Blake (Cardiff), D Edwards (Luton), James (Southampton), MacDonald (Swansea), Ramsey (Cardiff), Church (Reading), Cotterill (Wigan), C Evans (Man City), Vokes (Bournemouth).
