Transfer saga set to end?

Tottenham youngster Lee Barnard should link up with Crewe on Tuesday morning. The deal to take the talented forward has been rumbling on all summer but at long last it appears to be heading to a conclusion.

Barnard has been in constant communication with Steve Holland and the player made contact with the first team coach before yesterday`s home defeat to Leyton Orient.

He advised that he is to take part in first team training on Monday and will then commute to Crewe to complete a six month loan deal on Tuesday morning. So it looks as if the player who has been interesting a whole host of clubs will make his long awaited debut in the match at Swindon next Saturday.

Meanwhile, the club look set to put in a formal offer for an unnamed League Two striker in the coming days. The board of directors have given the go-ahead to the management team to step up their search for a permanent striker. The club face a race against time to complete the deal ahead of Friday`s transfer deadline.
