Holland: Barnard is days away...

Steve Holland says that he hopes to complete the Lee Barnard deal within days, as the young striker recovers from an injury. Barnard has been linked with Millwall, Hull City and Motherwell in recent weeks but Holland says he'd be surprised if 'Barney' did a U-turn on the deal.

Barnard has kept in touch with Holland every day since agreeing to join on a six month loan two weeks ago.

Holland told CreweAlex.net: 'I will be amazed, after the conversations I have had with Lee, if there becomes a situation. He is getting very frustrated as he just wants to come up here and play. It's hard for me to believe that he will turn around when he is fit and say he is going somewhere else, that would really surprise me.'

Barnard is still recovering from the effects of a jarred knee, which he picked up in training with Tottenham. Holland says that he is 'days, not months' away from returning to training and once he's back he will sign for the club.

So, the wait goes on.

I really hope that all this isn't just to avoid paying a week or 2's wages, i'm getting impatient here!

I really hope it's not Spurs stalling it to see if they can get £million for him before the transfer deadline.
