New Striker Set To Sign?

Steve Holland says that a lower league striker could sign on a permanent deal by the end of the month.

Crewe have been after a permanent replacement since the departure of Luke Varney early in the summer. It was anticipated that we would survive with just loan players but a deal for a unnamed striker could be concluded in the next week.

The identity of the player is as of yet unknown, He is believed to be plying his trade in League Two. Bury's Andy Bishop and Peterbrough's Danny Crow have been linked recently in the media.

Steve Holland told the Official Site that nothing is concrete but next week could shed some light on the situation:

"We could possibly have a permanent transfer target from a lower league although at this moment in time nothing is concrete on that. I can anticipate a busy week next week with a striker arriving one way or another."
