Crewe Given McCready Boost

Chris McCready should return to action in September after picking up what was thought to be a long term injury.

Macca was taken off in the first half against Bristol Rover due to ankle trouble. Initially the coaching staff thought the ligament damage would keep Chris out for several weeks, but Steve Holland has confirmed that it isn't as bad as first feared.

McCready could now be back within two weeks after doing some light fitness training this week.

Steve Holland told crewealex.net: 'Chris is in the gym working already so I would imagine he is only a couple of weeks away which is a much better time scale then we thought we were working with.'
