Foster joins Tykes

Former Crewe Centre Half Stephen Foster has joined Barnsley for £100,000. The 26 year old has put pen to paper on a two year deal at Oakwell.

He left Crewe in the Summer of 2006 following our relegation to League One. He left on a free transfer after clocking up over 200 apperances during a 9 year spell with the club.

Foz, a product of the academy, today completed his move Oakwell by signing a two year deal. The Yorkshire club have been chasing him for over 12 months, having believed he'd signed last summer prior to doing a U-turn in favour of Burnley

Foster struggled to make an impact at Turf Moor last season. He made just 7 appearances for the Lancashire based club and he now moved on in order to get regular first team football.

On the sale of Stephen Foster, The Burnley boss Steve Cotterill told Burnley's Official website: "The deal should go through later today or tomorrow. For the second time in about 10 days, we have received a good fee. We got Steve in on a free transfer and then to be selling him for £100,000, that's a good deal for us,"
