Trollope: Crewe Were Organised

Bristol Rovers' Paul Trollope offered Crewe a compliment we haven't heard in a while following the 1-1 draw at the Memorial Stadium.

'The Gas' struggled to break the resolute Alex defence down, despite piling on the pressure in the final minutes of Saturday's game. Crewe stood firm to take away a well earned point after Tom Pope equalised Craig Disley's opener.

After the game, Rovers first team coach Paul Trollope admitted that the Alex back line was organised enough to cope with what his team threw at it.

Trollope told BristolRovers.premimtv.co.uk: 'Crewe came here organised and solid and set themselves up very well defensively.

'In the end I think we were unlucky not to unlock their door, but we came very close on a couple of occasions.

'If anything it's taught us that now we are at a level higher, we need to show more guile and more enterprise to break teams down. Opposition teams are more organised, more tactically aware and better individually, and we have to adjust to that.'

After conceding 244 goals in the last three seasons alone, 'organised' and 'solid' has never entered an opposition manager's mind following a Crewe game. However, a new look back four this season has definitely raised Crewe fans expectations.
